Sunny-Side Up's Gigs

Sunny-Side Up, a brand new group of local musicians who love classic rock, R & B and pop music is going to make some appearances to play acoustic stuff at the following venues:

Here Comes The Sunshine

I realized the bright sunshine coming in through the windows just when we started playing "Here Comes The Sun," and it was exactly the party coordinator had predicted during our rehearsal.

This is a scene from the party to celebrate my friends' wedding at Rancho El Paso. I believe the newly wed couple has had a great heartwarming time with the flowers, food, costumes, live music, hula dancing, etc., thanks to the sun... NOPE! to all the nice friends (more than 80 people!) who gathered to congratulate them.

"Here Comes The Sunshine" を演奏している時に、温かい日差しが窓から差し込んで来たのに気がついた。パーティの幹事がリハーサル中に予想した通り。

ランチョ・エルパソでの友人の結婚お祝いパーティの1シーン。新婚夫婦は、きれいな花、おいしい食事、仮装（？）、ライブ、フラダンスなどなどでさぞかし満足だったかな。お日様の...いやいや80人以上お祝いに集まってくれたみんなのおかげ。

Beaujolais Nouveau 2010

We had another music show at Rancho El Paso's "Beaujolais Nouveau Dinner Special" on Thursday, November 19th.

I was joined by Yohei (guitars/center) as usual and also by the superb guitarist, Yoichi Watanabe (right) and the natural-high vocalist, Ai Tanaka (not shown) both from Minimokudo, as a full acoustic set.

It was a great opportunity to make Minimokudo's debut at the venue showing off the great original songs by Yoichi sung by Ai, whom I joined with Choppa (bassist) in their groovy gig on October 30th at Mega Stone.

Besides, wouldn't it be nice to perform under those ham and sausage and between those cactuses? They are all real ones!

To those who came to the show, thank you all for joining us and I hope you enjoyed the fill variety of music we played.

11/19（木）またまたランチョ・エルパソ「ボージョレー・ヌーヴォー・スペシャル・ディナー」に今年も出演。

フルアコースティックセットで、いつもの洋平（guit./中央）に加えて、ミニモク堂の最高のギタリスト渡辺洋一さん（右）とナチュラルハイのヴォーカリスト田中愛さん（写真なし）も登場。

洋一さんのオリジナル名曲を愛さんが歌って披露するエルパソデビューのよい機会にもなった。ミニモクとは10/30メガストーンでベースのちょっぱさんとグルービーなライブもやりました。

それにしても、ハムやソーセージの下、サボテンにはさまれてライブっていうのもいいかも。全部本物。

お越しいただいたみなさま、最後までおつきあいいただきありがとうございます。なんでもありの選曲で楽しい時間を過ごされたか？と願うところ。

The Circle's Christmas 2009

The Circle will come back to "Great Country Festival" again. Surrounded by those good ol' soft and smooth local country musicians, Broncos and Chuck Wagon, are we really going to rock again? Well, let's see how we groove with a special guest singer, Yuma, who was featured in my previous post.

The Circleがまた「グレートカントリーフェスティバル」に帰ってくる。あの懐かしくて優しい音を奏でる地元カントリーミュージシャンのブロンコスとチャックワゴンに囲まれて、またロックしちゃうのだろうか？今年はゲストシンガーのYuma（前のブログ参照）も加わり、どうなるかお楽しみに。

今年の夏至まつりからのブレブレ写真は、Benの手によるトラックの荷台のステージで、右から Choppa (bass), Dan (drums), Yohei (guitar), Claude (vocal, guitar) そして私 (key)。

Club Beaujolais Nouveau 2009

My next gig at Rancho El Paso is featuring an acoustic set with Yohei (guitar) and Yuma (vocal & flute) on Thursday, 19th November for the restaurant's dinner service to celebrate the release of Beaujolais Nouveau 2009. Yohei is a young but awesome guitarist who has been playing with me in many occasions and Yuma is a pretty soulful vocalist who made her debut on this unit in October at the same venue (photo).

We are covering some charming pop/rock classics with the combination of the piano and guitar as well as Yuma's flute for some songs.

No tickets or door charge necessary! Free! I hope you will enjoy our music along with their brand new selection of the French wines and special menu.

Besides, we are all Pisces coincidentally...

次のライブは、11/19（木）ランチョ・エルパソでの2009年ボジョレーヌーボー・ディナーのためのアコースティックセット。登場するのは、もう何度か一緒に演奏して来た、若いけれどかなりイケてるギタリストYoheiと、10月に同じハコでのデビュー？を果たしたYumaという、けっこうソウルフルなボーカリスト。

ピアノとギターをベースに、Yumaのフルートも加えて、親しみやすいPopやRockのカバーを中心に演奏する予定。

新物ワインとスペシャルメニューとともにお楽しみに。入場無料ですよ。

The Circle: Live Cherry Blossoms

There is a nice cherry tree near the venue, Rancho El Paso where we are going to have a gig on this coming Saturday, 25th April, and that's why I titled the show "live cherry blossoms."

"The Circle" is named partly after Marumigaoka Onsen, which can literally mean "Circle Beauty Hill Hot Spring" where Claude, the vocalist of the band lives and works. The five-piece session band is going to cover some of cool rock classics and rock the whole house!

4月25日のライブの会場となるランチョ・エルパソのそばに、すてきな桜の木があったので、こんなライブ名にしてしまいました。The Circleというバンド名は、ヴォーカルのClaudeが住み込みで働く「丸美ヶ丘温泉」から少し引用しました。5人編成で、ロッククラシック（60's、70'sなど）のカバーなどで、ドカーンと行きます。

入場無料！ぜひお聴き逃しなく。

We Still Rock

"Long as I can see the light..." Suddenly Yohei weaves out his own funk with his Fender Stratocaster while Claude lets his soulful explosion fill the atmosphere and Dan cranks it up with his groovy drive on the drum set. We still rock and never stay still.
On the 6th of December, in the second occasion of the Christmas event called "Great Country Festival" at Obihiro's noted country-&-western-style restaurant, Rancho El Paso, we performed some classic rock pieces after two other long-established country & western bands, Chuckwagon from Shintoku and Broncos from Kitami. As "EL PASO BAND," I enjoyed those special moments we shook the ground there not only with our massive sound but also with our rockers' spirits.
I would also like to thank Katz and Tetsu for joining us on percussion and bass respectively.
And more than anything else, I would like to express my appreciation to the audience for their heartily donation to Save The Children, which has accounted as much as 15,000 yen in total in spite of such a short period for collection that evening.

"Long as I can see the light..." 突如、Yoheiは愛機ストラトでファンキーに紡ぎだし、Claudeはソウルフルなシャウトで場を一変させ、Danがグルービーなドラミングでひた走る。ぼくたちも未だロックし続け、おとなしくしてはいられない。
12月6日、地元で有名なカントリースタイルのレストラン、ランチョ・エルパソでの「第2回グレート・カントリー・フェスティバル」で、カントリーバンドとして長いキャリアを持つ新得のチャックワゴンと北見のブロンコスのあとに続いて、懐かしいロックの曲を演奏。ぼくたちは「エルパソバンド」として、地面を揺るがす特別な瞬間を楽しんだ。それは決してマッシブな音だけではなく、自分たちのロック魂がそうさせたのだろう。
パーカッションのKatzそしてベースのTetsuさん、一緒にやってくれてありがとう。
そしてなによりも、ほんのちょっとの短い時間にもかかわらずなんと合計約15,000円もSave The Childrenに寄付してくださった客席のみなさん、感謝感謝です。
